The deputy commissioner of environmental health with the Milwaukee Health Department has been put on paid administrative leave, pending an investigation.
Claire Evers says she hasn’t been told what her potential misconduct is – adding she has never even had so much as a “talking-to” in her career. Evers’ duties have included overseeing enforcement of the city’s COVID-19 health orders.
The announcement about last Friday’s action is the latest shakeup in the department since Commissioner Kirsten Johnson took over at the beginning of this month.
Johnson fired two top staffers previously.
