It got overshadowed by the arrival of new head basketball coach Shaka Smart, but two Marquette seniors have entered the transfer portal.
That doesn’t mean Koby McEwen and Jamal Cain are gone, but it is likely.
Cain played 120 games in four seasons with the Golden Eagles, averaging 9.6 points and 6.3 rebounds-a-game as a senior.
McEwen transferred in from Utah State, playing 56 games in two seasons, averaging just under 10 points-a-game.
A disappointing 13-and-14 season, then having your coach fired, would be a factor for any player deciding it’s time to move on.
