Vaccine administrators were quite busy this weekend according to the Manitowoc County Health Department.
1,761 shots were administered this weekend, with 796 of those going into the arms of first-time patients. This brings the total number of shots given up to 37,755, with 23,811 being first dose shots.
This also means that 30.1% of Manitowoc County residents have at least received one dose of any of the three available vaccines.
Health Officer Stephanie Lambert also reported that there are a few appointment slots available for tomorrow at the County’s clinic. You can sign up by going to the County Website, the Health Department’s Facebook page, or call 920-683-4155.
Meanwhile, only two new cases were added to the County’s pandemic total, raising that number up to 7,347.
The death toll did not change, remaining at 68, but the number of people hospitalized for COVID complications did drop significantly.
Eight fewer people are now occupying area ICU beds, leaving that total at 23.
In Sheboygan County, it was a bit of a different story. 25 new cases were added over the weekend, with 26 people also being added to the list of recovered patients by the Division of Public Health.
This brings their pandemic totals up to 13,236 confirmed cases, and 12,953 recoveries, while 150 cases remain active.
They also did not report any new deaths, leaving that total at 133.
