Manitowoc Public Utilities has earned a Reliable Public Power Provider designation from the American Public Power Association for providing reliable and safe electric service.
The RP3 recognition, which lasts for three years, recognizes public power utilities that demonstrate proficiency in four key disciplines: reliability, safety, workforce development and system improvement.
MPU joins more than 270 public utilities nationwide that hold the RP3 designation.
General Manager Troy Adams said of the honor, “I am very proud to be a part of this utility with such a strong demonstrated commitment to our community. This is the culmination of a lot of work from a lot of people who really care about our customers. And this designation is not a final destination: we will continue to evolve, leveraging industry-best practices to improve delivered value in our operations and services.”
