“Please don’t let your guard down yet.” Those words implored by Manitowoc County Health Officer Stephanie Lambert in-regards to the COVID-19 virus.
“Each and every case of transmission presents another opportunity for the COVID-19 virus to mutate and pose a threat to the success of our vaccination campaigns to date. We’re so close to exiting this pandemic and it would be a sincere shame to get you or others sick now.”
Lambert points to a “slight increase” in confirmed cases averaging nearly 5 per day for the last month.
“It continues to be important to mask up and social distance as much as possible. This is particularly important for those who have yet to be fully vaccinated.”
The County Health Department has 70 appointment slots for the Moderna vaccine for Wednesday. The Department is encouraging the public to protect themselves and their families by signing up today! A reminder that due to a scheduling conflict the vaccine clinic is being held at the Manitowoc Rec Center –not the Expo Center.
To schedule an appointment, visit the Health Department’s Website for a link to sign up on-line or call 683-4155 if you do not have internet access.
