Two men charged with armed robbery and carjacking will appear in Racine County Circuit Court Thursday for a preliminary hearing.
Authorities were able to track down 18-year-old Hancel Matias-Rivera and 21-year-old Daniel Munoz because the victim’s car had OnStar emergency services.
The 67-year-old woman was leaving a store when two armed men demanded money and the keys to her car.
The OnStar operator directed police in West Allis to the stolen vehicle and Matias-Rivera and Munoz were taken into custody.
Munoz told police he’d never done anything like that before and he was just hungry and didn’t want to walk home.
