The Manitowoc Common Council met in a special meeting last night, where they voted on a proposal to extend Mayor Justin Nickels’ State of Emergency order.
With that simple voice vote and no discussion, the Manitowoc Common Council unanimously approved the proclamation.
The state of emergency will now run through June 30th of this year.
With the approval, the Mayor and City officials are now authorized to apply for any available grant funding from the federal or state government in response to the COVID-19 pandemic.
This resolution also encourages residents of the City to patronize local businesses and follow advisory health guidelines.
