There was a bit of a tense situation in Appleton yesterday (March 23rd).
Officers were called to the area of South Elm Street between West Lawrence and West 8th Street on a report of a suspicious package just before 11:30 AM. That area was then cordoned off as police investigated the package.
Roughly half an hour later, officials gave the all clear, as the package was determined not to be containing and dangerous or illegal material.
No word on what was in the package.
