One year after United Way Manitowoc County launched their COVID-19 Basic Needs Relief Fund, they look back at the coronavirus pandemic with an in-depth one-year report about their COVID-19 efforts.
The one-year report details the impact of the COVID-19 Basic Needs Relief Fund. United Way Manitowoc County awarded $92,150 to community organizations through three grant phases. The funds provided immediate basic needs relief for ALICE households and helped United Way Manitowoc County launch a COVID-19 response webpage with up-to-date resources, relief, face coverings, and more.

Although fundraising for COVID-19 relief has ended, United Way of Manitowoc County continues serving the community through the United Way’s Meeting Basic Needs initiative which addresses housing issues, food insecurity, financial stability, equity, and health.
“This pandemic has undoubtedly put a strain on the well-being of us all in many ways. We are very grateful to those who chose to LIVE UNITED,” said Ashley Bender, United Way Manitowoc County Executive Director. “The future is unknown – what an excellent time to deepen partnerships, dig into society’s most daunting issues, and rebuild with an equitable lens. Now is the time to define success differently so all achieve their potential. We look forward to building a better future with our partners under our Meeting Basic Needs initiative.”
