Two players important to the success of the Milwaukee Brewers finally saw spring training action over the weekend.
Centerfielder Lorenzo Cain batted third and went one-for-three with an R-B-I while starting the game in centerfield, while Reliever Devin Williams entered the game in the fifth, giving up a hit and a run in two-thirds of an inning.
Williams reportedly hit 96-to-98 miles-an-hour on his fastball, breaking off a couple of sliders, and showing his devastating change-up. He walked a batter and was removed when his pitch count got too high.
Cain sat out Sunday’s game, a 3-1 loss to the Seattle Mariners that dropped Milwaukee’s record to 10-and-9.
The Brewers meet the Cleveland Indians this afternoon (March 22nd) at 3:05 p-m.
