High-scoring senior Daryl Watts scored her third game-winning overtime goal of the season as the Wisconsin women’s hockey team won the N-C-A-A National Championship for the season straight time Saturday.
The goal by Watts gave the Badgers a 2-1 victory.
Makenna Webster scored the game’s first goal in the third period after the teams had played to a scoreless tie, but Northeastern matched the goal 30 seconds later.
This is a record sixth national title for the Wisconsin women’s program.
Wisconsin won its last six games, finishing with a 17-3-1 record.
