What started as a simple traffic stop, ended landing a man in a lot of trouble with the Manitowoc Police Department.
An officer was parked in the median turnaround area on I-43 just south of County Road CS, when just before Midnight last Thursday (March 18th) he saw a vehicle traveling a little over the posted speed limit.
When he ran the plate on the car, the owner was shown to have a suspended driver’s license.
The officer initiated a traffic stop and learned that the owner was in the rear of the vehicle, and had someone else driving.
The duo, and a third individual in the passenger seat, were noted as acting nervous, so a search was conducted.
During the search, marijuana, heroin, drug paraphernalia, and a concealed firearm were all located, so the 27-year-old owner of the vehicle was arrested on charges including possession of those items, as well as Misdemeanor Bail Jumping.
