The Northeast Region of the Wisconsin Department of Transportation in Green Bay has announced two construction projects in Manitowoc County later this year.
The announcement includes the placement of a thin polymer overlay on 19, I-43 bridge decks in the county in July and August. A news release explains the project will involve two-to-three mile work zones and result in the various lane and shoulder closures. A second road project on the horizon is asphalt paving for a nearly 8-mile stretch of US 151, from Wisconsin 67 to the Village of Valders.
The work is expected to start in May and run into September and also involve beam guard, concrete curb and gutter, and pavement marking. It’s anticipated that 151 will remain open with flagging operations during construction.
The DOT advised all construction dates are subject to change and weather dependent.
