The dog responsible for the death of another dog in Sheboygan has been identified by Police.
In a news release, the Sheboygan Police Department reported that on Saturday, March 13th, a woman reported that her dog was attacked while they were out for a walk. Her furry friend later died from its injuries.
A Sheboygan man contacted law enforcement after the fact, saying his canine may have been responsible because it had gotten loose around the same time.
The canine in question is up to date on all of its rabies shots and was working with an obedience trainer at the time.
The owner is working with the police during their investigation.
As a reminder, Sheboygan’s ordinance requires that dogs must be on a leash no longer than six feet whenever off of the owner’s property and that the leash must be held by someone capable of controlling the dog’s movement. Dogs may be off-leash while on the owner’s property, provided they are under direct voice control while they are outside and unrestrained.
