St. Patrick’s Day nearly turned deadly in Green Bay, as a man reportedly fled from police last night (March 17th) in the Downtown area.
An officer on patrol saw the 21-year-old man driving into oncoming traffic, so he attempted to pull him over. The man continued to flee, crossing the Mason Street bridge onto Ashland Avenue.
The Police Department utilized spike strips on the vehicle, but the driver continued to drive into Ashwaubenon on four flat tires.
Eventually, an officer was able to successfully use the PIT maneuver to stop the vehicle near the intersection of West Mason and Gross Avenue after the near 5 mile chase.
The driver is being investigated for charges of OWI, Possession of Controlled Substances, and Fleeing.
No injuries were reported.
