
The bad numbers continue to be low, and the good numbers continue to rise in Manitowoc County.
According to the Health Department’s COVID-19 Update from yesterday (March 15th), only 2 new cases came in between Saturday and Monday, and 11 fewer people are seeking treatment in area hospitals. This leaves those totals at 7,291 confirmed cases, and only 25 people occupying ICU beds in the ten hospitals in the northeast region.
No new deaths were reported, leaving that total at 66.
On the vaccination front, 1,022 more shots were administered in those three days, with 667 of them going into the arms of first-time patients. This brings the total number of shots administered up to 28,115, with 17,607 of those being first dose shots.
Roughly 22.3% of County residents have received at least one shot, which remains slightly higher than the state’s rate, which is 21.6%.
In Sheboygan County, there were 30 new cases reported over the weekend by the Division of Public Health. That paired with 35 new recoveries, leaves the pandemic totals at 30,070 confirmed cases, 12,799 recoveries, and 139 cases remaining active.
The death toll actually dropped by one to 132. This has happened in multiple counties throughout the state, as the county data continues to align with state data.
