Former Milwaukee Brewers slugger Ryan Braun says he’s still in shape and he’s not ready to say he’s “retired,” but he’s not returning to action right now.
Braun is a 37-year-old free agent, but he also says he can’t see coming back to play for any team other than the Brewers.
He flew into the team’s camp Monday to visit with former teammates like Christian Yelich and spent a couple of innings in the broadcast booth with Bob Uecker. Brett Anderson took the loss as the Brewers were pounded by San Diego 13-3.
Milwaukee has split its 14 spring training games so far with a contest against the Dodgers today (Tuesday).
Braun says he worked out with Yelich over the winter, but he hasn’t picked up a baseball or a bat since he suffered a ribcage injury in the season-ending loss to Los Angeles in the National League Wild Card Series.
