
The Manitowoc Common Council approved a development agreement with Dramm Corporation at the regular monthly meeting last night (March 15th).
This agreement approves the Acquisition of 15+ acres from the City near the southeast corner of Custer Street and Dufek Drive and is projected to create 40-new jobs within the 1st five years of operation and another 50 jobs in the 2nd five years of operation.
The new Dramm Corporation facility is projected to cost $10-million to construct and will include new buildings to be built in phases.
Phase 1 features a 17,000 square-foot office and 87,000 ft. of manufacturing space including a greenhouse. Phase 2 of the project would include a roughly 87,000 square-foot additional manufacturing space to match the construction of phase 1.
The City of Manitowoc has agreed to $1.26 million in tax incremental financing to be used for public or private utility or other infrastructure improvements, building construction, site preparation, architectural or engineering design fees, or other eligible building improvement-related costs.
Construction of the Dramm Facility is expected to start later this year and phase one should be completed before the winter of 2022.
The Dramm Corporation has many consumer gardening and irrigation products. The commercial division specializes in tools and equipment for the greenhouse industry and the Company also features an organic fertilizer division.
