
A 22-year-old Manitowoc woman is free on a $4000 recognizance bond after being taken into custody for mistreatment of animals at her residence.
Aysha Carbon is charged with four counts each of Mistreating Animals, Failure to Provide Proper Food and Drink to Confined Animals, and Failure to Provide Proper Shelter and Sanitation Standards For Animals.
Manitowoc Police Received a “citizen complaint” stating that Carbon had neglected her dog resulting in its death. The dog’s ribs, shoulders, and hip bones were reportedly protruding into the dog’s skin.
A deceased ferret assumed dead for months was also located in Carbon’s residence in the 800 block of Buffalo Street in what was described as “filthy conditions.”
She told officers that she hadn’t been in her apartment since December and that a man was supposed to be caring for her dog. He claims that he hadn’t seen or spoken to Carbon for about two years.
Conditions of Bail are that Carbon “not own or care for any domestic animals and to go the Manitowoc Police Department for photos and prints.
Her initial appearance is scheduled for April 5th at 1:30 p.m.
