A 23-Year-old Milwaukee man was taken into custody over the weekend following a vehicle pursuit reaching speeds of approximately 95-miles-per-hour.
Manitowoc County Court Commissioner Patricia Koppa set bail at $2000 recognizance for Joshua J. Lawrence on charges of fleeing an officer and possession of marijuana. A Manitowoc County Sheriff’s Deputy attempted to stop a vehicle about 4:30 AM Saturday morning that was traveling at a high rate of speed on I-43 near County Highway JJ in Manitowoc Rapids.
Lawrence exited the Interstate at U.S. Highway 151 proceeding to collide with a curb flattening the driver’s side front tire. Lawrence continued driving-eventually driving over a curb and into a front yard of a residence while attempting to turn on Brunner Road. A short foot pursuit ensued with Lawrence eventually taken into custody in the 9700 block of Old Highway 151.
No one was injured. Conditions of Bail are that Lawrence maintains “absolute sobriety” and appear at the Sheriff’s Department for photos and prints. His initial appearance is scheduled for April 5th at 1:30 p.m.
