According to a report from the Green Bay Metro Fire Department, a fire broke out in a home in the 1100 block of East Walnut Street just before 4:00 PM Sunday (March 15th).
Officers in the Green Bay Police Department had shown up on the scene before fire crews arrived and took it upon themselves to enter the burning structure and remove a victim from the one and a half-story home.
That victim was taken to an area hospital for treatment of their injuries. Their current condition is not known at this time.
The cause of the blaze is still being investigated, but we do know that it resulted in around $30,000 in damage.
