The former candidate in the Spring Election for Manitowoc’s 1st Aldermanic District, Theresa Schmitt, and the District Attorney has agreed to draft a written stipulation for her theft case.
A written stipulation is defined as an agreement between two parties that is submitted to the judge for approval.
This eliminates the need for the parties to go before a judge in person for a decision.
Judge Robert Dewane accepted the proposal.
The District Attorney will send Schmidt a copy of the Stipulation for her signature.
The court will be reviewing the case in 30 days.
Details of the written statement will become public record once Judge Dewane has accepted it.
