An Appleton woman has been arrested for her 5th OWI charge after being involved in a crash on I-43 in Brown County.
The crash occurred near Highway 96 in Denmark on Monday (March 8th) just before 1:00 PM.
Brown County Sheriff’s officials say that they received a report of reckless driving that resulted in a sideswipe hit and run on Highway 172 and that the driver, later identified as Brenda Tenpas, had continued onto I-43.
The same vehicle then lost control a short time later on the interstate, and slammed into a northbound semi, striking the gas tank.
The semi jackknifed, blocking the roadway, while Tenpas was trapped in her car. She was able to be extracted, but reportedly only received minor injuries.
Tenpas was arrested for her 5th OWI, although toxicology results are still pending.
