Manitowoc County Health Officer Stephanie Lambert says that approximately one in five eligible Manitowoc County residents are deemed “fully vaccinated” against the COVID-19 virus.
“You must have received two doses of the Moderna or Pfizer vaccine and be at least two weeks out after the second dose or the single dose of the Johnson&Johnson vaccine. If you meet those criteria you can now gather without a mask with other vaccinated individuals.”
Lambert adds that if you’ve met these criteria, “You can gather in very small groups in one household if they’re low risk and you’re vaccinated. You can probably loosen up on some of the precautions and go without a mask as well.”
That said, the local health expert still recommends that you still wear masks while out in public, avoid large gatherings and practice good hygiene including washing your hands for at least 20 seconds in warm, soapy water but the end is in sight if you are “fully vaccinated.”
