A 24-year-old Rock County Jail inmate who’s waiting for his homicide trial to start is now accused of attacking a fellow prisoner.
Jailers at the facility in Janesville say Julian Collazo hit a Beloit man in the face Sunday night, then hit him two more times while he was on the ground.
The victim lost consciousness.
Collazo has been held in the county jail since shortly after the December 2017 fatal stabbing of 43-year-old Christine Scaccia-Lubeck in her Janesville home.
His first trial ended in a mistrial.
Collazo will be tried a second time on a charge of first-degree intentional homicide.
