The Manitowoc County Breakers Squirt C hockey team was dominant in their first two games at state this weekend and are coming home with a second-place trophy.
According to coach Jason Suchomel, his team beat Marshfield 11-1 on Saturday, after jumping out to a 6-0 lead in the first period.
The team then defeated Black River Falls that evening, again on the back of a strong first period. The score was 4-0 after one stanza, and the Breakers ended up winning 7-1.
They then went on to the Championship game against Waupaca, where their scoring luck ran out. They put up two points but ended up falling 5-2.
Nick Hyde and Trevor Pinkerton were the lone goal scorers in that final game.
Congratulations Breakers on all your success this season.
