Two dozen pets labeled as exotic were surrendered in Kaukauna over the weekend during an event put on by J&R Aquatic Animal Rescue.
Among the animals taken in by the local shelter was a snake, some exotic fish, and even a small alligator.
The collection was done with no questions asked, in an attempt to help people abide by exotic animal laws, which vary from city to city throughout the state.
The Director of J&R Aquatic said that owning these animals, namely reptiles that may live decades, may seem like a fun and cool idea now, but as they grow, that could change.
