No hitting and inconsistent pitching cost the Brewers in a 5-1 Cactus League loss to Cleveland Thursday.
Milwaukee’s offense could put together only three hits and the Indians “lit up” Eric Lauer, the Brewers’ losing pitcher. Lauer gave up a pair of homers and three runs in two innings on the mound.
The Indians added another home run and two more runs later. Milwaukee’s only run crossed the plate on a grounder in the seventh inning.
The defeat dropped Milwaukee’s spring training record to 3-and-2.
The Brewers play the Colorado Rockies today (Friday).
