
The 3-day WIAA State Boys Basketball Tournament is scheduled to begin today (March 4th) with Division-5 action at La Crosse Center.
There were two semifinal games this morning starting at 9:05 AM with #1 seeded Hustisford battling #4 Wauzeka-Steuben, followed by a battle between the 2-and-3 seeded ballclubs, McDonnell Central Catholic and Green Bay N.E.W. Lutheran/Providence at 12:35 PM.
The winners then play for a state championship tonight at 7:05 PM.
Tomorrow at La Crosse, it will be Division-4 competition with Lourdes Academy of Oshkosh competing against Edgar at 12:25 PM in one of the semi’s.
Meanwhile, in the D-3 tournament at Menominee Nation Arena in Oshkosh Friday, 4-seeded Wrightstown carries the ‘area banner’ as the Tigers face top-seeded Racine St. Catherine’s at 10:45 AM.
The Xavier Hawks are involved in the Division-2 semifinals Saturday in La Crosse where they’ll meet top-seeded Onalaska at 9:05.
And, in a D-1 semifinal for Saturday at 10:45 AM in Oshkosh, number-1 Kimberly faces DeForest.
The WIAA has announced that the Division-1 and 2 state semifinal games are SOLD OUT.
