Bail is set at $5000 recognizance bond for a 41-year-old Manitowoc man charged with Physical Abuse of a Child.
Police responded to a call from a local high school Tuesday afternoon (March 2nd) for a report that a student said their father identified as Jaime Fonseca had abused them.
Officers say the student told them that Fonseca hit them with a belt as punishment after accusing the child of smoking marijuana.
The father admitted that to authorities who then took him into custody without incident.
Conditions of bail are that Fonseca have no contact with the victim, provide the court with an address and MTPD photos and prints within 72 hours. His initial appearance is scheduled for March 22nd at 1:30 PM.
