The obituary for an 81-year-old Madison woman takes a sharp left turn, politically – urging people to make a donation to US Senator Ron Johnson’s opponent next year in lieu of flowers.
The family says Carol Lindeen was never very political. Then she watched the Wisconsin Republican speak during a Senate hearing on the January 6th riot at the US Capitol.
Her daughter says Lindeen was furious as she listened to Johnson downplay the actions of the crowd, saying she wished she had spoken up more during her life.
The family says she voted for Richard Nixon and liked John McCain, but was “more of a Democrat.”
Johnson hasn’t definitely said he will run for reelection yet.
