Even though the Wisconsin women’s hockey team clinched the W-C-H-A regular-season championship last weekend, the split against Minnesota-Duluth was enough to knock the Badgers out of first-place in the USCHO.com poll.
Northeastern took over the top spot.
The Badgers meet Minnesota in the first round of the W-C-H-A Final Faceoff Saturday afternoon.
The Wisconsin men were impressive in a weekend sweep of Ohio State, but it wasn’t enough to move them up from fifth in the poll.
The men travel to Michigan State for games Friday and Saturday this weekend.
