A New Holstein Man who pleaded no contest in a car theft and fleeing police case from last year has been sentenced.
Judge Robert DeWayne determined that 35-year-old Lucas J. Munson will spend 8 months in the Manitowoc County Jail, followed by three years on extended supervision after entering the plea on charges of 2nd Degree Recklessly Endangering Safety as a repeater, Fleeing or Eluding an Officer as a repeater, and Misdemeanor Criminal Damage to Property.
Munson reportedly stole a vehicle in Manitowoc and was spotted in Two Rivers at around noon on March 21st of last year.
He then led authorities on a high-speed chase through the County, before he came to a stop in an alfalfa field in the 7500 block of Village Drive in the Township of Manitowoc Rapids.
He then took off on foot but was caught by K9 Keto.
Munson sustained minor injuries from the “bite apprehension” and one deputy sustained an injury to his leg during the foot pursuit.
