A 22-Year-old Ohio man is free on $5000 cash bail and is facing charges on a trespassing violation to a residence in the Town of Eaton.
Matthew R. Dice is charged with attempted kidnapping and trespass to land.
Manitowoc County Sheriff Dan Hartwig says that the homeowner located a vehicle in his driveway about 2:30 a.m. last Saturday indicating it was stuck in the snow and that a passenger later identified as a 12-year-old girl from rural Valders fled the vehicle when he approached.
Investigators determined that Dice met the girl online to pick her up at the residence with intentions to bring her back to Ohio. Conditions of bail are that Dice have “no contact” with the victim and to not interact on social media or chat-enabled games.
His initial appearance is scheduled for March 8th at 1:30 p.m.
