Another successful weekend marked the end of the 2021 Sturgeon Spearing season on the Winnebago System.
44 more fish were caught on Saturday (February 27th), with the largest being reeled in by Marcel Cardinal weighing in at a mammoth 120.5 pounds and measuring 73.5 inches.
In total, 75 fish were caught weighing over 100 lbs this season, of the 1,417 total sturgeon that were caught over the season.
The season started out well thanks to clear waters brought on by the frigid cold temps leading into the season.
