Lorenzo Cain says off-season workouts have made a noticeable difference in teammate Christian Yelich’s physique.
It’s obvious that the former National M-V-P is bigger and stronger. Yelich is trying to bounce back from a 2020 season that saw him hit a career-low .205 after winning back-to-back batting titles.
Yelich isn’t the only Brewer who did more than just sit around in-between seasons. Avisail Garcia dropped 30 pounds and is saying he is in the best shape of his life.
With the return of the Gold Glove centerfielder Cain, Garcia can move to right field, where he is more comfortable defensively.
The Brewers open spring training Saturday with split-squad games against the White Sox and A’s.
