Due to record-breaking cold and winter storms across much of the United States, hundreds of American Red Cross blood drives have been canceled recently.
With that in mind, the Red Cross has an urgent need for healthy individuals, especially those with type-O blood, to give now to ensure blood products are available for patient emergencies.
You can sign up to give this precious gift by calling 1-800-RED CROSS, visiting RedCrossBlood.org, or by downloading the Red Cross Blood Donor App. In addition, there are some local blood donation opportunities coming up soon.
The first is in Manitowoc next Monday (March 1st) from noon to 4:00 PM at Shoreline Credit Union, 4400 Calumet Avenue.
Then, Tuesday, March 2nd you can donate between noon and 5:00 PM at Kunes Country RV at 14-369 Westview Road in the Village of Cleveland, and finally, Wednesday, March 17th from 11-to-4 at the Manitowoc-Two Rivers YMCA.
