The Big Ten Conference hockey tournament was already compressed to three games in three days and now conference leaders are considering moving it up.
University of Wisconsin head coach Tony Granato says the league is ironing out the details of a plan that would start the tournament four days sooner.
League officials don’t want to wear-out their champion before that team advances to the N-C-A-A tournament less than a week later.
Tournament selections are going to be announced March 21st and the Frozen Four will be skated in Pittsburgh April 8th and 10th.
The Big Ten Conference tournament could be moved from March 18th to the 14th in South Bend, Indiana – to give teams a little breathing room before the national competition.
