Fishermen and women who are taking part in the Sturgeon Spearing season this year continue to have success on the Lake Winnebago System.
Yesterday was the 9th day of the season, and in total 1,202 fish have been caught, with 100 being reported yesterday alone.
In fact, the anglers have been so successful, the cap has been met for the upriver lakes, so the season was closed on those bodies of water.
The largest fish caught yesterday belongs to Tony Gishkowsky, who snagged an 80.1-inch-long, 138.3-pound behemoth. He was one of four people who caught fish weighing over 100 lbs. on Sunday, bringing the season-long total up to 67.
