A man who killed his companion at an Ashwaubenon hotel will be sentenced in May after pleading no contest to a charge of first-degree reckless homicide.
Forty-six-year-old Dennis Sutrick could get a prison sentence of up to 60 years. Sutrick was initially charged with intentional homicide which would have carried a mandatory life prison term. He had told authorities he found the victim unresponsive in the bathtub, but forensic evidence suggested something else happened. Police say they found blood and hair in the room.
Sutrick changed his story several times, eventually saying she may have been injured while they were having sex. The medical examiner said the victim died of a head injury and strangulation. Her name hasn’t been released.
