Wisconsin Governor Tony Evers is calling on state lawmakers to give their bipartisan support to what he is calling his “bounce back” plan.
Evers revealed more details of his $91-billion, two-year spending package during a recorded message yesterday (February 16th).
The Democrat says he thinks a budget can be passed that makes sure Wisconsin is better than it was before the pandemic hit.
Evers previously released parts of his plan, including the legalization of marijuana, letting local governments raise their sales tax to ease the reliance on property taxes, expanding Medicaid, creating a $100-million venture capital fund, and taking steps to make prescription drugs more affordable.
He also wants to increase funding for schools by $1.6 billion.
