Today (February 16th) is the day where voters will determine who will remain on the election ballot come April 6th for the Spring General Election. In the City of Manitowoc, there are several races on the ballot.
There are ten people vying to be elected onto the School Board, and voters will pick their top eight choices. The people running for these positions include Kerry Trask, Lisa Johnson, and Richard Nitsch, all of which are incumbents, as well as Collin Braunel, Aaron Erdman, Michael Gregurich, Reily Meyer, Rhonda Neuman, Timmothy Reis and Stacey Soeldner.
Voters in District 3 will also narrow the field of three candidates for that Aldermanic Seat down to two. They will choose between Theresa Collins, Michael Cummings, and Angela Myers.
The same will happen for District 7 voters, who will decide between incumbent Aaron Bailey, and challengers Tim Boldt, and Scott Pelot.
All voters will also decide who will remain on the ballot for the Wisconsin Superintendent of Public Instruction, where Jill Uderly, Deborah Kerr, Steve Krull, Shawn Hendricks-Willilams, Troy Gunderson, Joe Fenrick, and Sheila Brigs are running.
The top two vote-getters in the Aldermanic races and the SPI race will remain on the ballot in April.
In Two Rivers, the statewide race is the only item on the ballot, but in April there will be three at-large seats on the City Council on the ballot. Also, there is only one voting place open in the city today, that being in City Hall.
