Major League Baseball is taking steps to reduce the number of home runs with the aim of having more balls put in play.
The game has devolved into an “all-or-nothing,” “homer-or-strikeout” approach and M-L-B thinks there should be more action.
That’s why multiple reports indicate the ball will be “deadened” – so it won’t go so far.
This should be a big help for Milwaukee pitchers like soft-throwing left Brent Suter and fly-ball pitchers like Ray Black. Even Josh Hader and Adrian Houser have been victimized by the long ball in recent seasons.
Corbin Burnes is another Milwaukee pitcher who has been victimized by a home stadium that is very “hitter-friendly.”
