Last Saturday (February 13th), Manitowoc Parks and Recreation Department held the first Manitowoc Snow Fest of its kind.
It was a particularly cold and snowy day which made great conditions for the fat tire bike rentals from Broken Spoke Bikes, snowshoe rentals, sledding, hot chocolate, and popcorn. The event lasted from 9:00 AM to 1:00 PM. The warming house was open and served as the central hub for the event.
The Manitowoc Parks and Recreation Division Manager, Curt Hall, spoke with Seehafer News about this year’s event. “Considering the weather, the turn out has been good,” Curt remarked.
This has been the first year the event was called Snow Fest, and also the first year they have offered snowshoe rentals, which you can now rent any day from the MPRD.
Curt added, “We definitely anticipate this event will gain traction and we will open this facility more often on a regular basis.”
