A Manitowoc man is facing additional charges after he attempted to hide from officers who were conducting a probation warrant arrest.
An officer was attempting to locate the owner of a vehicle that was illegally parked in the 900 block of Circle Drive at around 7:15 PM on Sunday (February 14th) and knocked on the door of a residence. The man who answered said he did not know whose vehicle it was and closed the door.
The Officer learned that the man had a felony warrant out for his arrest and attempted to make contact with him again. The 42-year-old man opened the door but would not come outside.
He re-closed the door, while the officer waited for backup.
When it arrived, they knocked again, and the man’s mother answered the door, claiming she didn’t know where the suspect had gone. Officers entered the home and found an open door leading to a crawl space in the laundry room. The officers told the man that if he didn’t come out, they would send the dog in after him, so the suspect gave himself up.
He has since been charged with Felony Bail Jumping and Obstructing an Officer.
