Two Rivers High School Senior Matty Bianchi has become only the 19th wrestler in Wisconsin Prep history to win four State titles.
Bianchi accomplished the feat by capturing the Division-2 crown at 145-pounds at Adam Friendship High School with a dominating 20-to-1 victory over Lodi’s Zach Licht. Matty wrapped-up the championship with a takedown in the 3rd period.
Joining Bianchi as a state champ is Kewaunee’s Jack Severin, a 2-time state winner in D-2.
Also, Bailey Thelen of Two Rivers finished runnerup in state competition as did Mishicot’s Brad Cracraft, Sam Galoff from Brillion and Cole Ebert of Reedsville. It was a 3rd place finish at state for Denmark’s Evan Schwartz. Those area athletes placing 4th were Caleb Delsman of Reedsville, Reece Piontek from Denmark and Mitchell Thompson of Kewaunee.
5th places were turned in by Evan Dessellier of Kiel, Joel De Stelle from Mishicot and Briar Christel of Reedsville.
The State Individual Wrestling Tournament was held this year at 3 different sites: Kaukauna, Wausau East and Adams-Friendship High Schools all in one day.
