With the state mask mandate by Governor Evers under scrutiny in Madison, there were many rumors circulating that Manitowoc County would enact something right away if the Wisconsin requirement had gone away.
County Board Chairman Jim Brey responded to the rumors during a conversation with Seehafer News. He explained that the rumors that the county-wide mask mandate was on the agenda for the Board Meeting were untrue.
“I’m not saying eventually we might have to address something like that but right now there was no discussion about that at all,” he said. “As of right now, we’re following state mandates.” Brey added, “If deemed necessary we’ll address that issue in the future if need be, but as of right now there’s no discussion of local mask mandates or forced vaccinations.”
