The Roncalli Girls Basketball team overcame a 4-point halftime deficit to defeat Manitowoc Lutheran 61-43 in a WIAA Division-4 Regional semifinal game at the Hangar last night.
During the Jets come-from-behind win, senior Abby Stelzer reached and surpassed the 1,000 point mark in her career. It came in the 2nd half when action was stopped and Abby was given the game-ball by her coach, Amanda Kudick, and a hug from her parents John & Maureen Stelzer. Abby would go on to score 15-points in the win but it was teammate Lily Nelson who poured-in 26 including six 3-point baskets. McKenzie Staudinger made it a total of three Roncalli players in double-digits with 10-points.
Emily Marohn paced the Lancers in a losing effort with 10 points.
The Jets now move on to play at top-seeded and number-1 ranked Mishicot tonight at 7:00. A reminder that 107.9 WOMT will have the play by play broadcast of the Regional championship game. Airtime is set for 6:45.
