While 2020 was a terrible year in many ways, the City of Two Rivers actually had some positive things to report about the year.
In his State of the City report, City Manager Greg Buckley said that visitor traffic was up substantially. He explained that “The 8 percent room tax levied by the City, mostly for support of tourism promotion, generated over $143,000 in revenues, 21 percent higher than the highest previous year.”
He also said that the boat launch was popular, as the City collected over $10,000 in launch fees, which is roughly double previous years’ totals.
Another intriguing stat Buckley reported was in regard to the garbage stickers. The City Manager said that sales of the stickers went up by nearly 13% to just shy of $458,000.
