A father and son are under arrest in connection with a body found in in Marathon County late last year.
A fur trapper discovered 20-year-old Christian Schauer of Marshfield dead December 29th in the McMilan Marsh Wildlife area. Investigators located Schauer’s vehicle February 5th on a property in the town of Eau Pleine.
Deputies say 19-year-old Jared Carl was arrested for possession of stolen property and drug and weapons charges. Officers say his father, 50-year-old Shawn Carl, was taken into custody on suspicion of first-degree intentional homicide in Schauer’s death.
Both suspects are expected to make their first court appearances today (February 11th) at 2:00 PM.
